Unexploded Ordinances Support
AES provided survey support for the mapping and location of unexploded ordinances (UXO) on Fort Belvoir, an 8,656-acre military base located in Fairfax County. Using an ATV and Trimble GPS receivers, AES field staff established GPS control points throughout the base. Information provided and confirmed by AES surveyors during the reconnaissance phase of this project supported the mapping of various ordinance ranges.
