New Town

AES provided comprehensive design services for New Town, James City County’s first mixed-use community which is modeled on the principles of New-Urbanism or Neo-Traditionalism. The 365-acre development features 1,200 total homes, 150 single family units, 350 rental units, 400 condominium units, and an archaeological site. New Town combines residential units, retail shops, restaurants and office spaces with open green spaces and pedestrian friendly settings. The AES design included 9 regional BMPs, 11 public open spaces, and numerous small urban parks. This area is constantly being updated with new amenities and businesses.
