Survey Manager / L.S. – Chesapeake, Virginia

AES Consulting Engineers is seeking a full-time Survey Manager to prepare proposals, communicate with clients, provide site surveying services, manage survey field crews, coordinate contract management, and ensure project profitability. Typical services include boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, boundary line adjustments, construction as-built / stakeout, builder packages, etc. A successful candidate will also be responsible for business development, survey client development, and RFP / competitive bid pursuits / pricing efforts. Required: VA Professional Land Surveyor License; at least 7 years of experience in land development and public works projects; experience supporting teams for subdivisions, site plans, and rezonings; experience supervising others; relationships and experience working with local municipalities and approval agencies.

Project Engineer – Williamsburg, Virginia

AES Consulting Engineers is seeking a full-time land development Project Engineer. Under guidance of a Project Manager / Sr. Engineer, the selected candidate will be responsible for planning, design, and plan preparation for land development projects and for tasks including but not limited to E&S plans, utility layout, stormwater management design, site grading, etc.. Required: bachelor of science degree in civil engineering or equivalent, 3-7 years of experience in land development, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Preferred: E.I.T. license with intention to earn P.E.

Survey Designer / Technician – Chesapeake, Virginia

AES Consulting Engineers is seeking a full-time, in-office Survey Designer / Technician. This position will be responsible for processing survey data, field to finish, using Trimble software, preparing topographic base maps in AutoCAD Civil 3D, preparing subdivision plats, ALTA surveys, boundary surveys, builder packages, platting, etc. Preferred: 3-10 years’ experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and a valid driver’s license.

Field Surveyor Assistant – Williamsburg, Virginia

AES Consulting Engineers is seeking a part-time Field Surveyor Assistant to assist a Field Surveyor in conducting surveys including but not limited to Control Network Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Physical Surveys, As-Built Surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, and FEMA Flood Elevation Certificate Surveys. This position will be responsible for the general maintenance of survey equipment and supplies. The ideal candidate knows commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures of land surveying. Preferred: Experience in survey instrument use and general maintenance (Level, Total Station, GPS Receiver, Field Data Collector); Experience in map and plan interpretation; Technical school or collegiate training. Experience is preferred but willing to train a reliable, self-motivated person with a grasp of mathematics and strong work ethic.

Entry Level Civil Engineers – Chesapeake, Williamsburg, and Richmond, Virginia

AES Consulting Engineers is always seeking full-time entry level civil engineers for all offices to provide site engineering design using AutoCAD Civil 3D and to prepare construction plans including site, grading, utility, and E&S plans. Preferred: bachelor of science degree in civil engineering, or equivalents.

Summer Interns – Chesapeake, Williamsburg, and Richmond, Virginia

AES Consulting Engineers is seeking full-time summer interns for all offices to assist project managers with markups to plan sets, base files, etc. including utility layouts, storm system layouts, minor site grading, erosion and sediment control plans, and conceptual site layouts. Interns will get the opportunity to help the survey crew with survey jobs in the field, provide quantity takeoffs / cost estimates for projects, set up plan sets (vicinity maps, cover sheets, plan sheets, etc.), and aid in printing / putting together submittal packages.
