Civil Site Design
Entry Level Engineer – Chesapeake, Williamsburg, Richmond and Harrisonburg, Virginia AES Consulting Engineers is seeking a full-time land development Project Engineer. Under the guidance of a Project Manager / Sr. Engineer the selected candidate will be responsible for planning, design, and plan preparation for land development projects. Preferred: BS in civil engineering, 0-3 years experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Candidates that intend on earning P.E. recent or soon-to-be graduates are welcome to apply.
Survey
Survey Instrument Operator – Williamsburg, Virginia AES Consulting Engineers is seeking a full-time Survey Instrument Operator. Candidates for this position assist Land Surveyors and Party Chiefs in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of civil engineering and land surveying by participating in field crew operations to provide field data for boundary surveys, topographical and construction stakeout surveys. Candidate will learn to operate total station, level, GPS and data collectors for use in collection field of survey data. Must provide clear and concise field notes including sketches and learn daily maintenance and up-keep of instruments. Required: The preferred candidate will have previous survey experience and possess a thorough understanding of standard survey procedures and instruments. Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. of equipment over all types of terrain. Candidate must be willing to work year-round, outdoors in all types of weather. Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. Salary negotiable.
Internships
Summer Interns — Chesapeake, Williamsburg, Richmond and Harrisonburg, Virginia AES Consulting Engineers is seeking full-time summer interns for all offices to assist project managers with markups to plan sets, base files, etc. including utility layouts, storm system layouts, minor site grading, erosion and sediment control plans, and conceptual site layouts. Interns will get the opportunity to help the survey crew with survey jobs in the field, provide quantity takeoffs / cost estimates for projects, set up plan sets (vicinity maps, cover sheets, plan sheets, etc.), and aid in printing / putting together submittal packages.
