Mr. Edmond “Ed” Blackwell has specialized in the design of road systems; water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage systems; residential and commercial subdivisions; commercial and industrial building sites; and various hydro-logic and hydraulic studies. Mr. Blackwell has been working in civil engineering since his graduation from Virginia Tech in civil engineering in 1987.
Mr. Blackwell’s projects have ranged from hydraulic designs for golf courses to 500+ unit/lot residential subdivisions to commercial shopping centers. His responsibilities include hands on design, supervision of engineers, designers and CADD operators in plan and specification preparation, and on-site field consulting during construction.
Previous to his experience at Blackwell Engineering, Mr. Blackwell worked in the design of roads with all related utilities including specifications and bid documents; cost estimating for civil construction projects; mapping of storm sewer system; hydraulic analysis and preparation of FEMA floodplain data; inspection of road and utility construction. In addition, he served seven years in the U.S. Army Reserves and National Guard as both an Engineer and Infantry Officer and graduated from the U.S. Army Engineering School in 1987.
