Jeff Adams began his surveying career in Maryland in the fall of 1997 after transitioning from commercial fishing. Although he knew little about the profession at the time, he quickly adapted, working for a small firm where he gained experience in research, computations, drafting, client relations, and understanding the regulatory environment.
In 2012, Jeff moved to Richmond, Virginia, and took on a role as an Instrument Operator, which provided opportunities to work across the state and beyond, including projects on Federal Government and Military sites. Earning his Professional Surveyor license in Virginia in 2015, Jeff has since contributed to a variety of residential, commercial, and government projects throughout the Richmond area and Hampton Roads.
Jeff has always appreciated the blend of history and exploration in surveying, from digging through old records to locating the original markers described within. Following in the footsteps of earlier surveyors remains one of the most rewarding aspects of his work. As his career has progressed, Jeff has found great satisfaction in mentoring the next generation of surveyors, helping them build their skills and appreciation for the profession.
