AES Spotlight
After graduating Cum Laude from Virginia Tech, Chris Schaible joined AES in 2015 as an Engineer I. Under the mentorship and training of Project Managers and Senior Engineers, he developed a strong foundation in engineering design for land development. As his experience grew, so did his skill set and responsibilities, allowing him to take on larger roles and establish direct relationships with clients.
Today, as an AES shareholder and Project Manager, Chris leads engineering design efforts for projects assigned to his team while maintaining direct communication with clients, contractors, and localities to ensure successful project execution.
One of Chris’s favorite aspects of his work is its visibility—he enjoys seeing the projects he helped design come to life within the community.
We asked Chris to share a little bit more about himself. See his answers!
Favorite Food: “Snow crab legs”
Favorite Activities Outside of Work: “Busch Gardens with the Family, sports, gaming, hanging out with my kids & pets, finding time to spend with friends.”
Favorite Vacation Spot: “Any type of sporting event”
Favorite Quote: “I don’t have a particularly favorite quote I go back to for inspiration, but I can often be heard saying ‘Go Hokies’!”
Another occupation you would like to try: “Rollercoaster Designer”
Which actor would you want to play you in the movie about your life: “Daniel Day-Lewis or Gary Oldman.”
AES Culture
Chris’ favorite thing about AES? “We are large enough and skilled enough as a company to tackle a wide host of diverse and interesting projects, but small enough to where there is still a fair degree of camaraderie and nobody is treated as a ‘number’.”
Considering joining the AES team? AES’s culture helps to mitigate a lot of the stress and challenges typically seen in the engineering world – everyone here wants to not only strive for personal success, but also hopes to ensure the success of their peers. I think that’s valuable, especially in today’s work climate.”
