Mark Ricketts’ father was a land surveyor for over 42 years in Virginia Beach, where Mark grew up and went to Bayside High School. He decided to follow in his father’s footsteps in 1984 by earning his degree from Virginia Tech. Also at Virginia Tech, Mark became involved with and led the Virginia Tech Rescue Squad (VTRS) as its president. As a life member of the VTRS, Mark continues his support of the rescue squad and the university.

He joined AES as a Senior Project Manager in 2016 and became the Office Manager for the AES Southside office and a member of the firm’s Operations Management Team in 2019. As Manager, Mark oversees the training and career development of staff, ensures project quality, and aids in business development and client relations.

Throughout his life, Mark has demonstrated his commitment to volunteerism through participation in numerous volunteer activities including Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and United Way.  He has served his community as Board Chairman of a local $80 million credit union, participated in the Virginia Beach Board of Building Code Appeals for New Construction, and he is a current member of the Virginia Beach Community Emergency Response Team (VBCERT). He enjoys travel, sports of any kind, plays the guitar, and loves poetry. Mark is an actual NFL owner through stock ownership in his lifelong favorite team – the Green Bay Packers. One of his guiding principles is found in Robert Kennedy’s famous quote, “Some see things as they are and ask why.  I dream of things that never were and ask why not!”
