Prior to joining AES in 1987, Ms. Callis worked for James City County, performing administrative duties for the Planning Department. Initially, she worked mainly on accounts receivable efforts. She remembers that much of the work was done manually, some tasks with a typewriter.
Today, Ms. Callis is pleased that technology and software have improved the efficiency of so many accounting functions. In addition to accounting, she coordinates numerous human resources functions including benefits administration, insurance coverage, and labor compliance issues.
Ms. Callis is a one-stop-shop for planning AES events. From summer barbeques to holiday parties, she ensures that AES employees and their families spend time getting to know each other. Her coworkers can always count on her positive and encouraging attitude.
