Team members at the AES Chesapeake office often see Project Manager Jason Seas, P.E. leaving work with his guitar in hand. Transitioning from engineer to rocker, Jason is usually on his way to practice with his band Rachel and The Jellycats. Co-workers enjoy hearing about the exciting life of playing music and the band’s accomplishments. Last week Rachel and The Jellycats band even took home an award!
During the February 8th awards ceremony at the Vanguard Brewpub and Distillery in Hampton, Rachel and The Jellycats won in EP of the Year for their five-song self-titled album. Songs on the album include Lady Luck and, It’s a Man’s World. Also nominated for Song of the Year and Best Retro Band, the band has created quite the buzz.
Rachel and The Jellycats perform locally in Hampton Roads. Their website describes their sound as, “one-part jazz, one-part, soul, one-part rock and all musical jelly.” You can find their upcoming shows and more about the band on their website to experience their sound for yourself!
At AES, we enjoy celebrating our team members’ talents in and outside of work. It’s great that each team member has a unique perspective to bring to the table and add to our company’s overall culture.
