Providing engineering and surveying services for this mixed-use multifamily development was no snooze! From 2015 to 2018, AES was fortunate to be part of the team to bring Symbol at Scott’s Addition to life. The development received its name from Symbol Mattress Factory, which used to occupy the 5.8-acre site.
The multifamily community boasts exquisite in-unit and community amenities. Residents have the option to choose from one, two, and three-bedroom units to fit their lifestyle. Two modern apartment buildings provide a total of 202 apartment units. The center courtyard features a sparkling pool for residents to enjoy. Also on site is a 64,000 sq. ft. commercial building for retail and office spaces.
As part of civil site design services for Symbol, AES provided preliminary design documents for a special use permit application, engineered construction plans, Virginia Stormwater Management Program (VSMP), and construction administration services. Survey services for this project included pre and post-construction ALTA/NSPS surveys.
