Bay Creek is a 1,500-acre residential resort development located in Cape Charles on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. AES provides master planning, surveying and civil site design services creating a community that brings together life on the water, both for people and wildlife.
Over the last few years, AES worked alongside the Bay Creek Community to dedicate 350 acres as a nature preserve. In 2019, AES supplied an erosion control plan that converted 9 holes of one of the golf courses to the nature reserve. In 2020, AES extended a gravel road to the south end of the reserve where some of the trailheads start. The nature reserve at Bay Creek features with walking and hiking paths. Additionally, residents and visitors can explore these areas by canoe, kayak or paddle board.
This site features seven existing subdivisions consisting of 750 units, a future expansion of eight subdivisions adding 625 more units, and two golf courses. The design features of a utility backbone system, including two vacuum sewer pump stations, 9.5 miles of vacuum sewer collector lines, a sanitary force main, and 11 miles of a water distribution system.
