AES employees, led by AES Cares, had the pleasure to volunteer their time to Virginia Peninsula Foodbank twice in the last two weeks.

Last week, AES assisted with Virginia Peninsula Foodbank’s mobile food pantry efforts. The mobile food pantry distributes food to those in the community that need access to groceries for themselves and their family members. Employees helped load food into the recipient’s vehicles in the drive-through mobile pantries. AES helped to fill 175 cars!

This week, AES employees assisted Virginia Peninsula Foodbank with their BackPack Packing Program. Kids across the Peninsula rely on their reduced lunch programs at school during the week, but during the weekends they don’t have access to their school lunches. The BackPack Packing program brings together volunteers to pack bags of food that students can take home with them during the weekends when school lunch isn’t available.

AES employees helped Virginia Peninsula Foodbank hit their weekly total of 1,650 bags of food! Please join us in supporting this worthy cause. You can learn more about Virginia Peninsula Foodbank and ways to volunteer here.
